The privacy wall has reached its full 3-meter height and they have started rough plaster work.
The white material is the beginning of the forming procedure for the three large inset moldings that will circle the gated entry.
The last major ditches have been dug and electrification has begun. Looking toward the main gate from inside Buena Vista you can see the electrical materials on the right.
Stacks of footing blocks for streetlights as well as some of the large underground wiring can be seen. The square boxes in the distance are underground service connections for each home.
Underground conduit and above ground garden style transformers await installation.
Every 40 meters along the roads underground vaults will be placed to handle the high voltage electrical mains as well as line voltage cables for street lighting in common areas. These same vaults will also enclose telephone, cable TV and intercom conduit and lines for each house.

The 47 pieces of hand carved Cantara stone that will be assembled into the 21-foot diameter fountain inside the gated area were delivered on Saturday.
These pieces will form the outer basin of the fountain.

This is the second basin. The fleur-de-lis that surrounds the basin is also plumbed for water.
There is one remaining large piece of solid granite to be removed from the top of the hill. The rock is being broken into smaller pieces and reused to build retaining walls around different areas of the property.

Notice the strange shaped columns. This is how they are formed. They start small and keep adding layer upon layer of concrete to build up the column to the final height and width, then the smooth finish coats and decorative work starts.

Installation of high voltage underground electrical vaults is well underway. The smaller rectangular box is a service connect. There will be one of these for each home.
From a distance, the steel starts to rise for the bell tower that is located at the top of the property.
The foundation is in and the brick is starting to rise that will form the walls of the bell tower.

The concrete foundation for the new Cantera fountain has been poured.
A large steel reinforced concrete beam that connects the two side of the entrance arch has been poured. The arched element above and around the gates will be attached to this structural piece.
Just to remind of where we live. a banana begins to flower. Each of the tiny yellow flowers will become one piece of fruit.
The basin and center column of the fountain is placed and cemented together.

A Cat grader starts to lay the crushed stone base for Privada Sanctuario, the lower road.

Curbstones are positioned on the finished graded and compacted roadbed of Privada El Sanctuario. Soon the space between the curbstones will be filled with concrete pavers.
Workers begin tying steel re-bar to form the structural grid for the first concrete floor of the bell tower.
Inside the bell tower a concrete stairway winds its way around the walls. Visitors can climb these stairs to the second level of the tower for wonderful 360-degree views of the area.installed.

The scale of our entrance dwarfs the top crown molding that is actually 28 inches tall! Watching our Mexican craftsmen work miracles in concrete is exciting and amazing.
Some of the columns in the outer wall start to get caps.
The monument sign that will great visitors starts to take shape. Later this will have a tile face with raised lettering that announces Buena Vista with our logo.
This photo shows the drop in road grade around the fountain. The area is now ready for crush stone road base that will get watered down then rolled before the paver blocks are installed.
The main entrance gates were delivered this week. The bright orange primer will disappear under a rust brown finish paint. It took eight men to lift one side of the 16' tall gates off the truck.

Here is the first view from the observation platform of the bell tower looking toward the Pacific. Owners and their guests will be able to climb the tower to this level.
Forgive me for including this one, but I thought you might like to see how Annie, our 14 year old Chessy and Frieda, our 2 year old cat spend their siesta time. They are truly inseparable. This is not a rare picture around our place, but a common one.
